about us

who we are

our vision

The pride & remembrance run is a 5km fundraising run/walk organized and operated by the philanthropic and athletic-oriented Pride and Remembrance Association.

The pride & remembrance run is the only annual athletic event during Toronto's Pride Week, promoting and fostering community spirit, goodwill, volunteerism, and sportsmanship in the Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Founded in 1996 in Toronto, Canada, the 5km run and 3km walk is the largest, long running and most fun pride run in Canada.

The Pride and Remembrance Association is a not for profit volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting Toronto's 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Each year the Pride and Remembrance Association selects and supports charities focused on providing youth, health/wellness, and cultural support services to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.  The beneficiaries receive 100% of the charitable pledges raised by run participants. Since 1996, runners have raised over $3.7 million to support our beneficiaries.

our mission

The pride & remembrance run is an independent, not-for-profit, athletic event operated by the Pride and Remembrance Association, and a 100% volunteer board of directors.

We remember our past to build on our future. We are community-focused.

We aim to provide an inclusive, diverse and welcoming environment that allows everyone to achieve their own goals and enables us to provide funding each year for our chosen beneficiaries that are focused on providing youth, health/wellness, and cultural support services to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
