Turning the energy of the Pride and Remembrance Run into year-round support for 2SLGBTQ+ communities across Canada.

Since its creation, the Pride and Remembrance Foundation has helped extend the impact of the pride & remembrance run by supporting organizations and community initiatives across Canada.

Impact

Nearly $60,000 distributed in 2025 to organizations supporting 2SLGBTQ+ communities across Canada.

Through its granting programs, the Foundation supports projects that deliver real impact in communities across Canada.

What the Foundation Does

The Pride and Remembrance Foundation (PRF) proudly serves as the charitable arm of the pride & remembrance run.

Together, the Run and the Foundation transform community participation into meaningful support for 2SLGBTQ+ organizations across Canada.

The Foundation receives and processes all charitable donations raised through the pride & remembrance run, providing a seamless and immediate tax-receipting process for the Runโ€™s participants and supporters.

Each year, these charitable funds are distributed to charitable organizations selected as Run beneficiaries by the Pride and Remembrance Association (PRA), in consultation with the Foundation.

Extending the Impact of the Run

In addition to supporting the Runโ€™s annual beneficiaries, the Foundation receives a share of the Runโ€™s charitable proceeds.

These funds power the Foundationโ€™s national granting program, allowing the impact of the Run to extend far beyond race day.

Through this program, the Pride and Remembrance Foundation supports registered Canadian charities whose work benefits 2SLGBTQ+ communities through initiatives such as:

  • health and wellness

  • education and youth programs

  • legal advocacy

  • social services

  • athletics and recreation

  • arts and culture

This program supports innovative projects, emerging initiatives, and organizations across Canada, ensuring the spirit of the Run remains active throughout the entire year.
